![](https://i.imgur.com/MRFeOiL.jpg) Dr. Eleanor Twitty a.k.a. The Grey Lady or "The Library Ghost", portrayed by Ruth Hale Oliver, is a lady in grey and the first ghost encountered by the original three Ghostbusters (Ray, Egon, and Peter) while they are investigating paranormal activity at the New York Public Library. When they attempt to touch her, she transforms into a much larger and more frightening skeletal form and causes the trio to flee the library in terror. Though they do not catch her, they get a scan of her and use the information to construct their containment grid and ghost catching equipment, allowing the creation of their ghost-catching business. In Ghostbusters terminology from West End Games' role-playing game, The Grey Lady would be a Class 4 Free-Floating, Full-Torso, Vaporous Apparition, as she was human in appearance and later identified by the Ghostbusters. She returns in the 2009 video game, where much of her history is revealed, and the Ghostbusters uncover the tragic story of her death. She was once Dr. Eleanor Twitty, the New York Public Library's head librarian in the 1920s, and overseer of its Special Collections of ancient artifacts, stone tablets, long-forgotten tomes, and rare books. She was murdered in 1924 by philologist and oil tycoon Edmund Hoover, The Collector, a disciple of Ivo Shandor who seduced her for the Gozerian Codex among other rare books in her care. She is memorialized by the library as a dedicated staffmember who died protecting its properties. However, since Twitty's death, other librarians sense her haunting presence, eventually frightened one staff, Alice Melvin (Alice Drummond), in 1984. In the video game, the Ghostbusters discover her reading the Codex in the library's secret catacombs where she died before capturing her. Due to the ease of the capture, they state that she must have wanted them to recover the Codex to aid them in defeating Hoover after he died and became the guardian of the mandala node Shandor built into the library.

Ray encountered with such spirit in his sleep, who was portrayed by Playboy centerfold Kymberly Herrin. In omitted scenes, she was originally a ghost who haunts Fort Detmerring guardhouse. It is believed that when alive she was a sweetheart of a military officer who stationed there over a hundred years ago. In the IDW Publishing's Ghostbusters comic book series, she has a reference in Ghostbusters Annual 2017 in the Dramatis Personae Pages on Ray's biography with the line "In love with a ghost (but not the one from Fort Detmerring)."

![](https://i.imgur.com/mWvqaMP.jpg) Ivo Shandor, a surgeon and an architect of some renown during the early 20th century, was born in Romania around 1855, and he moved to New York City from Bucharest in 1898. Shandor is the overall cause for the circumstances in the events of the original film's canons and appears as the "boss" of the 2009 video game. He is played by actors Brian Doyle-Murray and J.K. Simmons in the game and the 2021 film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, respectively. He is also a relative of Wolf Van Shandor, a famous artist who made mythological artworks. As an architect, his structural styles include Federal, Art Deco, Occult, and Gozarian (Mesopotamia). Having extensive knowledge on the occult and science that rivals Egon Spengler and Ray Stantz, despite being insane with a god complex, Shandor deemed that humanity is beyond redemption after the First World War. He established a cult of Gozer worshippers with close to a thousand followers based on his American family's ancestral island home on the Hudson River where he mass-produced ectoplasm. John Horace Tobin, author of several reference books, infiltrated Shandor's cult and published his findings on their methods and history as Tobin's Spirit Guide. Shandor used his connections to steel mogul and disciple Cornelius Wellesly to design 550 Central Park West (55 Central Park West) as a temple to summon Gozer through, using materials from a mining operation he established along with the town of Summerville, Oklahoma in 1927. Shandor also developed a mandala across the city, with the New York Public Library, the Museum of Natural History, and the Sedgewick Hotel (built by Shandor's misanthrope follower Godfrey McCallister Sedgewick) as key nodes protected by demonic spirits who were originally his three top disciples (Edmund Hoover, Cornelius Wellesly, and Evelyn Lewis). The fourth node is located on Shandor Island (before it sank) and is guarded by a captured Sloar, a demon that produces the black slime that powers the Mandala system and flows into a series of abandoned city subway tunnels, turning New York City into a hot spot for supernatural activity. His cult also had experimented with time travel, attempting to find artifacts from the future that would reveal the outcomes of their apocalyptic schemes, but managed to retrieve a disc Ghostbuster (1984) DVD from an unknown origin, implying that the Cult of Gozer had breached a universe where details of the Ghostbusters' world are fictitious, but unable to play it because DVD players do not exist yet. After Shandor apparently died in 1945 reputed from complications surrounding an experiment he was performing on himself, his body was believed to be buried in a cult-owned mausoleum in what is currently Central Park, his resting place desecrated like most other deceased New Yorkers'. Apparently having no living relatives, revealed to have a descendant in Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn, Shandor's fortune and resources are managed by a foundation under his name. Shandor's original scheme comes to fruition during the events of the first film in 1984, when the sufficient energy collected causes Gozer's minions, Zuul and Vinz Clortho, physically manifest in preparation for their master's coming. The Ghostbusters foil Gozer's entry and neutralize it. As revealed in the video game, Shandor is also indirectly responsible for the events of Ghostbusters II, as the psychomagnotheric "mood" slime produced on his island was discovered by the malevolent spirit of Vigo the Carpathian underneath the Manhattan Museum of Art; he used Shandor's substance to strengthen himself and to pursue his own apocalyptic agendas after his cursed painting's arrival at the museum. After decades of operating behind-the-scenes, Shandor finally makes an appearance in Ghostbusters: The Video Game as a main antagonist of the game. It is revealed that prior to his death he made pacts with the Gozerian pantheon, allowing his spirit to become a powerful deity in exchange for his services. By 1991, Shandor possesses the body of Mayor Jock Mulligan and makes Peck head of PCOC to hinder the Ghostbusters, while he uses his descendant – Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn – to invoke the nodes of his mandala and revive Gozer's Mr. Stay-Puft Destructor form. But Gozer was easily defeated by the Ghostbusters and failed to capture Ilyssa, the disillusioned Shandor forsaking the deity and decides to use the mandala on himself to become a god-like being self-titled the Architect (Class 7 Transformed Mortal Remnant). But he underestimates the Ghostbusters and is defeated after they cross their proton streams during the fight after following him into the ghost world. The 2021 film Ghostbusters: Afterlife reveals that Shandor's preserved body was placed in a glass coffin within a Gozerian temple that he built under the Shandor Mines, which doubles as a back-up portal for Gozer to manifest through in 2021. Egon learned of this and dies attempting to prevent Gozer's return. After Spengler loses his life to stop Gozer, he wills his home to his estranged daughter Callie and grandchildren Phoebe and Trevor. Guided by Egon's spirit, Phoebe and Trevor discover his old ghostbusting equipment and learn of Shandor's plan. Revived in his body once Gozer fully manifests, Shandor praises the deity and expresses his desire to rule by its side before being promptly ripped in half. The Ghostbusters script lists the spelling of the surname as Sandor, which is pronounced "shandor", and in fact is spelled Šandor as a moderately common Croatian surname and very popular firstname in Hungary (also, Hungarian is the largest minority language in Romania).

Early 20th Century
Ivo Shandor was born in 1855. Shandor was a doctor by trade and was noted for performing a lot of unnecessary surgeries in his practice. After World War I, Shandor concluded that society was too sick to survive and founded a cult dedicated to the Sumerian god known as Gozer. The Shandor Mining Company was founded in 1927 and the town of Summerville, Oklahoma followed in 1928. Every building in town was built by Shandor and his followers, including the mine, the Summerville Foundry, the school, and the library. The whole town was essentially one big mining operation. His name was placed on everything. In secret, Shandor had also built a temple dedicated to Gozer within the town's selenium mine. The temple was inscribed with the years in which Gozer would return, and contained a sacrificial pit which would also serve as the interdimensional gateway in which Gozer could return. All of selenium bored out of the mine was smelted into cold-riveted selenium girders then sent from Summerville to New York City. He was also the architect of 550 Central Park West in New York, using unusual materials such as the cold-riveted girders with cores of pure selenium, magnesium-tungsten alloys, and gold plated bolts. Shandor designed the building in a fashion exactly like the telemetry trackers NASA uses to identify dead pulsars in deep space. He made the structure to conducted rituals with his secret society. The rituals were designed to bring about the end of the world and a way for Gozer to enter this dimension. On May 20, 1945, the mining operation was forced to shut down after the Shandor Mining Company's miners committed mass suicide by leaping down the mine shaft to their death. The incident was named "The Shandorian Curse." Ivo Shandor passed away at some point in 1945. By that time, Shandor had amassed close to 1,000 followers. His body was interred within the temple he built in Summerville. His body would remain perfectly preserved within its glass sarcophagus.

![](https://i.imgur.com/uCQbDV6.jpg) Gozer the Gozerian is an eldritch entity revered by the Hittite, Mesopotamian and Sumerian cultures who appears as the first film's main antagonist, known by many titles that include "The Destructor", "The Destroyer", "Volguus Zildrohar, Lord of The Sebouillia", "Scourge of the Glethestements" and "The Traveler." Its base form is that of an androgynous woman, leading to it typically being identified as female. Gozer's appearance is preceded by increased paranormal activity and the disruption of natural forces. As briefly mentioned in the film and fully covered by the 2009 game sequel, Gozer had a following on Earth around 6000 BC before being banished by the Babylonian goddess Tiamat following a protracted conflict between their followers. Via its chief minions – Terror Dogs Zuul the Gatekeeper and Vinz Clortho the Keymaster, Gozer can enter into another reality and offers those witness to its arrival to choose an avatar form known as a Destructor before proceeding to destroy that plane of existence, as it did in one dimension as a Torb (electric eel-like creature) and in another, a Sloar (reptilian humanoid that produces venomous ectoplasmic substance that conducts psychomagnotheric energy). In the 1920s, cult leader Ivo Shandor and his followers set up Gozer's coming to Earth while predicting the years during which a cross-dimensional rip would occur. Such a rip occurred years after Shandor's death as the "Manhattan Crossrip of 1984", when Zuul and Vinz Clortho opened the portal for their master to emerge from the rooftop temple of 550 Central Park West (55 Central Park West). Being confronted by the Ghostbusters upon arrival, Gozer uses Ray Stantz's accidental thought to assume its Destructor form of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man before being banished back to its realm when the Ghostbusters fired their crossed proton streams on the gateway. Prior to it being banished, Peter Venkman mockingly nicknamed Gozer "flat top", "chick", and "prehistoric bitch" after its first attack. Thirty-seven years later, in Summerville, Oklahoma, revealed that Winston Zeddemore himself referred Gozer as "muffin" out of his own scorn against it. Gozer "reappears" in the 2009 game via the Gozerian Mandala-revived form of Mr. Stay Puft, but was easily defeated since lacking a portal to Gozer's domain made it comparatively weaker than its initial manifestation along with its fixed manifestation as Stay Puft within Earth preventing Gozer from assuming more effective avatar forms and the fact the Ghostbusters upgraded their arsenal since their first encounter. Stay-Puft's defeat convinces a disillusioned Ivo Shandor to alter his plans while forsaking his faith in Gozer. Gozer returns in the 2021 sequel. Ghostbusters: Afterlife as the main antagonist. In the film, Egon learned of Gozer's eventual return in 2021 and moved to Summerville, Oklahoma, where the selenium used to construct the Shandor building—from the first film—was mined from, to prepare a series of traps to stop Gozer permanently. Egon lured the disembodied Gozer to his farm after capturing one of its minions and preventing ghosts from flooding into Summerville, but the gambit failed, and Egon hid the ghost trap holding the creature. Egon is then attacked by the other creature, causing him to suffer a fatal heart attack. When the creature inside the trap was freed, it returned to Shandor's mine. Vinz Clortho and Zuul picked new hosts and return to the Gozerian temple, and Gozer was brought back to Earth in a form similar to its previous, but includes skeletal protrusions and spikes, with energy surging throughout its body (due to Jason Reitman's desire to use prosthetic like Alien film series' that starred Sigourney Weaver instead of a form-fitting costume like the first film's and of different actresses as the character both physically and disembodied, and with Gozer being a shape-shifter, explaining the differences in appearance). This time, Gozer do not assume a Destructor Form when facing the Ghostbusters. However, it animates Stay-Puft Marshmallows as Mini-Pufts as minions. Egon's grandchildren, Phoebe and Trevor, re-enact Egon's plan to lure Gozer to the farm by capturing Zuul in a ghost trap to rendered it incorporeal, though the trap once again fails and Zuul is released with Gozer's physical form restored. It is confronted once again by the original Ghostbusters, including the ghost of Egon, who help snare Gozer while Phoebe battles the entity and Trevor fires a proton beam to power the trap. Gozer and its minions are again defeated by the Ghostbusters, trapped inside ghost traps buried underneath the farm, and its threat is neutralized. However, after Gozer and its minions are deposited into the firehouse's ecto-containment unit, a warning light blinks. In Ghostbusters terminology from West End Games' role-playing game, Gozer would be a Class 7 Metaspectre. Gozer never appeared in The Real Ghostbusters animated series or receive a classification, but is referenced by Ray as a "Primal God" in the episode, "Janine Melnitz, Ghostbuster". Gozer was also used as a benchmark for other potent entities encountered, such as Proteus, Nexxa, Murray The Mantis and Great Cthulhu. Gozer was originally played by Yugoslav actress/model Slavitza Jovan and its demonic voice was provided by Paddi Edwards in the 1984 film. In the 2021 film, Gozer was portrayed by Emma Portner and an uncredited Olivia Wilde while voiced by Shohreh Aghdashloo.

In 1984, the ghosts started plaguing the city, a sign of Gozer's coming. First, the two minions Zuul and Vinz Clortho were sent ahead to choose their appropriate bodies to possess, and together they would open the gate to release their master in New York. Peter discovered that Dana was being possessed by Zuul and Egon and Janine were successfully able to hold Louis; who was possessed by Vinz Clortho. During this time, a man named Walter Peck switched off the Containment Unit, releasing all the captured ghosts which started to roam around, waiting for Gozer. Unfortunately for the Ghostbusters, Vinz was able to successfully escape and locate Zuul. Though the Ghostbusters were able to make it to the building, they were too late to stop Zuul and Vinz from completing their ritual and summoning forth Gozer, transforming the bodies of Dana Barrett and Louis Tully to the Terror Dog forms of their possessors in the process.
Gozer appeared out of the Temple of Gozer in the form of a female covered in strange slime-like clothes. Peter Venkman sent Ray Stantz in to confront Gozer first, to which Ray ordered Gozer to cease all supernatural activity. Gozer asked Ray if he was a god, then started blasting the Ghostbusters when he said no. When the Ghostbusters attempted to blast Gozer, it double flipped from the stairs, over them, and landed on the altar on the roof. Egon Spengler told everyone to go full stream. They fired but the "nimble, little minx" then vanished, causing the Ghostbusters to think they had won. Ray concluded they neutronized it and caused a complete particle reversal. Winston Zeddemore proclaimed, "And we have the tools. We have the talent!" Peter declared it was "Milla time!" Peter held out his right hand. Ray and Winston were gleeful and did the hand-stack. Egon looked at a Gamma Rate Meter and told Ray things looked extraordinarily bad. Ray was alarmed. Winston wondered what was happening. An earthquake rocked the temple. The disembodied voice of Gozer demanded that the Ghostbusters "Choose the form of The Destructor!" - the form Gozer would assume to destroy them with. While Winston, Egon, and Peter were able to clear their minds, Ray accidentally thought of something, "...something that could never, ever possibly destroy us! Mr. Stay Puft!". But Gozer took this form and attacked the Ghostbusters as a giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
While the Ghostbusters burned some of Gozer's new form with their beams, it wouldn't hold the creature back for very long. The Ghostbusters then crossed the streams and forced the gate closed as Gozer looked on in horror, causing the entire top of the building to be consumed in a powerful explosion, incinerating the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and banishing Gozer back to its hellish realm. Zuul and Vinz Clortho went with Gozer and Dana and Louis were reverted to their human forms. Though the Ghostbusters had saved the city, the destruction that they caused got them kicked out of business.

![](https://i.imgur.com/35SdDKL.jpg) In 1984, when Dana opened her refrigerator to discover the inside was another dimension, she saw Gozer's temple. Zuul looked from the stairs and the other Terror Dog Vinz Clortho suddenly popped up and shouted, "Zuul" at Dana, only for her to freak out and run away screaming, slamming the fridge shut. Sometime later after the incident, during an intense thunderstorm one Thursday night, Zuul manifested in the physical plane atop the Shandor Building's rooftop, breaking out of a Gothic statue in its likeness. Zuul possessed Dana after she arrived home to get ready for her date with Peter Venkman. Demonic claws pinned Dana to her chair then telekinetic activity sent the chair to the kitchen, where Zuul waited to possess Dana. Zuul, now in possession of Dana Barrett, acted like a seductive temptress and sought only Vinz Clortho, who had likewise possessed Louis Tully, Dana's nerdy neighbor who harbored a not so secret crush on her. As Peter arrived for his date with Dana he noticed her radical change, but curiosity overpowered him and he proceeded to gain entrance to her apartment by tricking Zuul into believing he was a friend of The Keymaster. Peter asked her for her name and she introduced herself as Zuul "The Gatekeeper". Upon further prodding by Peter, Zuul revealed they must prepare for the coming of Gozer "The Destructor". Zuul then aggressively attempted to seduce Peter, to which he responded by refusing her advances, and insisting on talking to "Dana". Zuul was initially amused but became frustrated after further insisting. She responded in a horrific, demonic voice that, "There is no Dana, only Zuul!" Angered by Peter's persistence, Zuul (in Dana's body) began to levitate above her bed while growling and roaring ferociously at Peter. Later, Peter sedated Dana's possessed body with a large dose of Thorazine. When Walter Peck shut down the storage facility, releasing all of the ghosts Zuul awoke, sensing the supernatural energy. She walked toward her living room, with a sinister grin, to get a closer look at the ghosts escaping from the Ghostbusters' headquarters. Upon seeing the supernatural energy fly in front of her building she suddenly blew out the wall of her apartment with a ferocious roar, leaving Vinz Clortho a way to locate her. Afterwards, The Keymaster noticed Dana's destroyed living room wall as he wandered along the street below. Shocked, he walked into the building and burst open her door. Vinz introduced himself as "The Keymaster" to which a grinning Zuul replied she was "The Gatekeeper". The two demons walked toward each other, meeting at the center of the demolished living room in a passionate embrace. They kissed lustfully before Zuul led Vinz toward an ominous mythical staircase leading up to the building rooftop as lightning flashed violently. As the Ghostbusters made their way through Dana's apartment both Zuul and Vinz, now standing in the opposite pedestals once occupied by their Gothic statues, raised their arms to the sky, slowly. Suddenly they were both struck by bolts of lightning which they redirected towards the large temple doors, causing them to open. Once the doors were completely opened, Zuul began to absorb the supernatural lightning bolts, shaking violently and smiling as the Ghostbusters finally arrived and stared at her and Vinz. Having absorbed enough demonic energy, Zuul began to lower her arms down to the pedestal surface, her body thrashing uncontrollably under the force of the lightning shooting through her. As her hands touched the pedestal, a large lightning blast converged on her, transforming her and Vinz from Dana Barrett and Louis Tully's human forms back into their natural, satanic Terror Dog forms. The two beasts turned and roared menacingly at the Ghostbusters before taking their positions beside the crystalline temple doors which revealed Gozer. After the Ghostbusters crossed the streams and defeated Gozer, the full protonic reversal also affected Zuul and Vinz, turning their beastly bodies back to stone, leaving Dana Barrett and Louis Tully trapped inside their respective shells. The Ghostbusters dug them out and they survived, having no recollection of any of their actions while under demonic possession.

![](https://i.imgur.com/1V78Ws1.jpg) In 1984, Vinz Clortho first appeared at Dana Barrett's apartment as she returned home with groceries. Vinz Clortho appeared inside her refrigerator, the contents of which were replaced by another dimension also inhabited by the Temple of Gozer and Zuul. Vinz Clortho growled out for Zuul. When Dana noticed it, causing her to scream in horror, slam the fridge door shut and seek the Ghostbusters for help days later. Vinz Clortho manifested on Earth in a couple weeks later, on a Thursday night, after Zuul, on the roof of 550 Central Park West as a large horned beast with vicious red eyes known as a Terror Dog. He ended on up on Louis's bed and waited for him. He growled softly as Louis finally opened the door, but he didn't notice Vinz. He threw Ted and Annette Fleming's coats toward his bed and it happened to land on Vinz's head. After Louis asked if anyone want to play Parcheesi, everyone heard a growl. Confused as well, Louis turned and said, "Okay, who brought the dog?", apparently under the impression that one of his guests had somehow managed to smuggle their pet into the party. Vinz burst out from Louis Tully's bedroom during the party he was holding for his clients. He landed right on the refreshment table, demolishing it completely. The guests screamed, scattered, and cowered as Vinz focused his attention on Louis. Louis also screamed then fled out into the hall. Outside, Louis ran to the elevator as Vinz came barrelling through his apartment door as well with a loud crash, also managing to damage the door directly opposite. The elevator arrived and Louis got in and pressed the button for the ground floor just as a door down the hall opened and an elderly woman came out to investigate the commotion. Upon spotting the hellhound crouched outside, the old dear exclaimed in shock and wisely hotfooted it back inside to call the police. Vinz Clortho ran out the building. He knocked the Doorman over but avoided contact with a nearby couple narrowly. The husband clutched his wife. Vinz ran across the street. A taxi braked in the left lane. Vinz hopped over the wall into Central Park. Vinz Clortho caught up to him and cornered him at the Tavern on the Green. Louis tried to talk to him like a person to a regular dog and frantically checked his pocket for a Milk-Bone. Vinz Clortho growled. Louis screamed in terror then slid down to the ground and fainted. Vinz possessed Louis while the people inside Tavern on the Green resumed their discussions. While possessing Louis's body, Vinz was able to speak, but not coherently and was in a disoriented state. He took on the identity of The Keymaster and immediately sought out Zuul the Gatekeeper, another minion of Gozer who had possessed the body of Dana Barrett, Louis's neighbor and not so secret crush. Louis/Vinz emerged from the southern part of Central Park at the Merchant's Gate and entered Columbus Circle. Louis stated he was the Keymaster. A woman shrieked "Ah!" A man held her as Louis scampered by. Louis stated "The Destructor" was coming then also called it "The Traveler" and "The Destroyer." He paused near the performers and looked around. A horse was heard nearby. Louis perked up and mistook the horse for The Gatekeeper. Louis approached a white horse attached to a coach and started talking to it. He introduced himself as Vinz Clortho, Keymaster of Gozer, Volguus Zildrohar, Lord of the Sebouillia. He asked the horse if it was the Gatekeeper. The Coachman got Louis's attention and remarked the horse pulled the wagon but he made the deals. He asked Louis if he wanted a ride. Louis's eyes flared red. He was clearly possessed by Vinz Clortho. The coachman was surprised. The horse turned and looked at Louis. His eyes returned to normal. Louis leaned in closer to the horse and told it to wait for the sign then all prisoners will be released. Louis ran off, plowing right through a woman's bags as she looked in a trash can. She yelled at him. Louis yelled humanity will perish in flame. He yelled for the Gatekeeper. In search of The Gatekeeper, he was arrested by the police for harassing random people. He was placed in a straight jacket. The police were concerned with placing him in regular lock up and Bellevue Hospital refused to take in Vinz. They went to the Firehouse. Louis wearily asked Egon Spengler if he was the Gatekeeper. Egon scanned Louis with the P.K.E. Meter and watched as the readings quickly surged. Egon turned it off and turned to the Police Sergeant and suggested they better bring him into the Firehouse. The sergeant nodded. Janine Melnitz wrapped around one of his arms as they walked back to the Firehouse. The officer inside and the sergeant lifted Louis, as he stood in place, out of the van. Janine told Egon he was so kind to take care of that man and called him a real humanitarian. Egon remarked he do not think Louis was human. The police released him into the custody of Egon and Janine. Egon used the Aura Video-Analyzer and performed a scan of Vinz's brainwaves which revealed an image of the demonic Terror Dog's head on a screen hooked up to the device. While in Egon's custody the possessed Louis revealed his identity along with Gozer's plan. He stated he was Vinz Clortho, Keymaster of Gozer. Janine looked at Louis's wallet and told Egon his name was Louis Tully and he lived on Central Park West. Janine held the wallet out to Egon. He took it and looked at it. Louis mimicked Egon and also extended his arm to take it. Janine offered Louis some coffee. Louis asked Egon if he did. Egon told him, "Yes, have some." Louis repeated what Egon said. Janine made a face and walked over to the kitchen area. Egon recalled Vinz talked about waiting for a sign and asked him what the sign was. Louis answered it was the coming of Gozer in one of the pre-chosen forms. He reminisced about some of Gozer's past conquests. There was the Rectification of the Vuldronaii, when the Traveler came as a large and moving Torb. Egon looked towards Janine. He also recalled during the Third Reconciliation of the Last of the Meketrex Supplicants, they chose a new form for him, that of a giant Sloar. Janine looked back at Egon. Vinz chuckled at the thought of how many Shubs and Zulls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of a Sloar that day. Janine concluded there was something very strange about Louis. Louis sniffed a clear jar of popcorn as he rotated it. Janine admitted she was usually very psychic, and she had a terrible feeling that something awful was going to happen to Egon. Louis wiped his left cheek with a pizza slice. Janine revealed she believed he was going to die. She went into Egon's arms. He looked up and placed his right arm around her. The phone rang. Louis jumped and looked around. Egon quickly picked up the phone. Louis picked up the base of the phone. Egon took it from him. The call was from Peter. Egon thanked Louis for his help. Peter informed Egon that Dana was saying she was the Gatekeeper and asked Egon if that made any sense to him. Egon revealed he just met the Keymaster. Louis lifted up the coffee pot. Louis took a drink. Peter thought that was wonderful and they should get them together. Louis with his mouth full, made an odd but cheery face at them. Egon thought that would be extraordinarily dangerous. Peter relented and advised Egon to hold onto the Keymaster and he would head back to the Firehouse. Egon liked the idea and placed the phone back on the receiver. Louis walked over and gave Egon a frying pan. Egon thanked him then turned to Janine and stressed they needed to find Ray and get him back immediately. Louis picked up a lamp and gave it to Egon. On Friday morning, the next day, Walter Peck arrived, before Egon could conduct one last test, and ordered the shut down of the Containment Unit. While Egon tried to explain the danger of doing that, Louis mimicked Egon's hand gestures. When he told Peter what Peck wanted to do, Louis grinned. He watched the Con Edison Man up close as he shut down the power. As the ghosts surged from a hole in the Firehouse' roof, Louis proclaimed that was the sign. Amid the confusion, Vinz managed to escape. He walked down White Street, walking east to West Broadway. He wandering seemingly aimlessly around the chaos, periodically looking up at the sky at the escaped ghosts, until arriving back at the Shandor Building. He walked past a subway tunnel entrance at Broadway & Murray Street. He bumped past an African-American man. He was offended but Louis kept walking up Broadway. At the same time Dana's balcony exploded, Louis paused in Duffy Sqare near the George M. Cohan statue. He crossed the street to the Shandor Building, went up to the twenty second floor and found The Gatekeeper, with whom he shared a passionate kiss at Dana Barrett's apartment. They ascended a secret stairwell leading up to the roof where some time later, they were finally able to mate, opening the gateway to an alternate dimension through which their master, Gozer would enter with the intent of destroying the world. Upon completion of the opening of the gateway Vinz, along with Zuul, transformed into their true demonic Terror Dog forms. After Gozer was defeated by the Ghostbusters, Vinz disappeared from this dimension and Louis Tully was transformed back into a human being, having no recollection of the events that took place since his and Dana's demonic possession.
